Keeping up with the ‘Jones’ – how I navigate the changing world of digital marketing

The other day I intentionally spat coffee at my computer and broke my keyboard. Why?

I had just finished reading about Mark Zuckerberg’s big Facebook changes, mobilization, chatbots and a bunch of other articles about new marketing trends for 2018.

Honestly, if I wasn’t drinking coffee I would have been spitting chips! Just when you think you’re ahead, online marketing and social media the rules change AGAIN.

How the hell do you keep up?

Ideally, you’d have someone else (aka me) who’s all over these changes and is looking after your digital marketing strategy, but as a small business, sometimes that’s just not possible or affordable.

ENTER – Digital Marketer.

Digital Marketer has been my go-to resource in the world of online digital and social media marketing for more than four years. They have easy systems, easy processes and people that walk the talk!

Last year Balance by Deborah Hutton parent company OmniChannel Media Group hosted a series of Digital Marketer events across the Eastern Seaboard (maybe you came to one?). It gave hundreds of business owners and marketers, the opportunity to learn about the latest and greatest digital marketing strategies and gave them access to ongoing support and education.

The great news is, OMG is bringing back one of the DM team this April!

Molly Pittman is the former VP of Marketing for Digital Marketer, and what she doesn’t know about the online marketing world, simply isn’t worth knowing.

Since we last saw her, Molly has started her own business – a business dedicated to teaching people like you and me how to escalate our marketing plans to get more customers and more revenue for our business by using online advertising.

Molly Pittman is the queen of online sales automation.

She has learnt how to create responsive sales campaigns that don’t talk at customers but instead start a conversation with them and customise the sales experience to meet their needs.

When she comes out in April, she’ll show us exactly how to do this with a little Facebook feature called “Messenger”. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Messenger is a way to instant message other Facebook users but what you might not know is how to use it to convert “Facebook likes” into customers.

Molly is also bringing with her another former DM member, Lindsay Marder former Managing Editor. Lindsay in my view was the “engine” room of the Digital Marketer team. She curated and pushed out the amazing content that we love.

We’ve all heard it a thousand times but in today’s digital world – CONTENT REALLY IS KING. So I’m pretty keen to hear what Lindsay has to say about how to create content that doesn’t just suck time and energy away from your business but contributes to your bottom line.
